ALL KINDS OF MUSIC

From my main current musical endeavours with the Irish pub band kiss the blarney and the traditional barn dance and ceilidh  Lifeboat Band, all the way back to the start of the whole thing singing solo round the folk clubs with a guitar, via the odd sidestep into cajun with Sack the Fiddler, zydeco with Swamp Fever and a whole stack of dance bands from the original Fiddle Band and the much celebrated Titanic Disaster Band...

Here they all are, together with a few musical snippets. Just click on the "Rest of the Music" link and Bob's your uncle.  Somebody's, anyway.  For kiss the blarney or the Lifeboat Band, hit the buttons on the left!

Most weekends I'm out with kiss the blarney. playing fiddle, mandolin, sax, melodeon and flute (plus a bit of guitar and the odd song) - all the old Irish chorus songs and some of the cracking new songs that have started appearing from bands such as the Waterboys and the Saw Doctors.  And one or two of mine.  The second CD comes out something later this year (which, in case I never get round to updating the site again, is 2011!).

Occasionally I can be found shouting at people who want to dance, calling and playing melodeon for the three piece Lifeboat Band which was designed for small spaces and for parties, church do's and so on.  I got bored with playing for people who didn't want to dance at weddings, and decided to have more fun and earn less...

Latest songs are usually on YouTube or on the solo page here if you can find it.  The whole site is turning into a gigantic sprawl and really should be tidied up, but I can't be bothered.  But this is a new one, written as an elegy for a way of life and freedom of movement that is under threat in this country, and especially for the evictions proposed for the Dale Farm traveler camp.

I can be contacted at  arthur@barndancer.co.uk  if you are interested in any of the various musical wotsits mentioned here or elsewhere on the site.
